Dogwood: A Journal of Poetry and Prose is Fairfield University’s annual literary magazine, edited by Sonya Huber.
Directory of past Dogwood issues available here. Dogwood was on hiatus in 2010-2011, and was previously edited by poet Kim Bridgford and fiction writer Pete Duval.
Dogwood has published poetry and fiction. Creative nonfiction will also be accepted for publication beginning in 2011-2012.
Each year this national magazine runs a competition with prizes in each genre. Dogwood has published poets such as:

and fiction writers such as:
- Eric Gabriel Lehman
- Nalini Jones
- Tom Hazuka
- Gina Ochsner
Judges for the competition have included former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, NEA Chairman Dana Gioia, and Oprah book club author A. Manette Ansay. Work from Dogwood has been selected for The Pushcart Prize Anthology and has been featured on Verse Daily.
Students at Fairfield University gain hands-on experience in editing the journal by taking The World of Publishing (Poetry) or The World of Publishing (Fiction), and may also intern on Dogwood.
